Sue Adolph was born in Lillooet, and grew up in Texas Creek (off reserve). Her ancestors were from Pavilion. She married Russell in 1972. Soon thereafter she  started assisting Russell, helping him sand and smooth his own carvings. But he wasn't doing anything with the small pieces so she tried her hand at it.

She has been carving for the last 5-6 years, working mostly small pieces, stone and antler. This has become a retirement project and hobby for her.

The pictographs was her idea to do them. Her cousin gave her the page of pictographs and she just tried doing them in her art.
